Getting to Know the iPad

This two week class covers all the basics of iPad navigation and explores the many amazing things the iPad can do. Class 1 starts with a demo of the iPad’s wonderful capabilities and then step-by-step instruction on basics such as mail, the internet and how to buy an “app” (many are free!), customizing settings, and troubleshooting. Class 2 explores more of the apps for photos, music, history, etc. How to organize apps, save and share photos, and identifying a good app from a poor one. Navigation techniques are taught. Participants bring their iPad if you have one.

Genealogy Research Online

So much history is available online! Digital copies of actual census data, military records, ship manifests, birth records are increasingly available online. Learn how to conduct productive searches, use genealogy websites and collect valuable ancestry information.

Digital Photos

Learn to share and view photos, convert paper photos to digital (scanning), printing, make photo memory books, calendars, and other memorabilia with online services, and how to make back up photos.

Social Media

Even if you never “Tweet”, wouldn’t it be nice to understand what all the fuss is about? Have you been hearing about Twitter, Pinterest, Linkedin, Instagram, Facebook, and Vine? The class gives a demonstration and explanation of the latest social media apps and how they are being used by teens, business and even government.

Online Privacy

Creating safe passwords, privacy and social media, shopping on the internet, avoiding phishing and other scams.

Business Fundamentals
